Bleached eyebrows – trend for a/w 2010

23 Aug

At the Bottega Veneta Spring 2010 RTW show in Milan the models’ eyes seemed to pop, not only because of their amazing glitter eye make-up (happy dance, glitter is back for a/w 2010) but also because their eyebrows had been bleached to a pale shade of blond, so much so that the Caucasian models looked as if there were eyebrow-less, focusing all the attention on their eyes.

The models in Miu Miu’s stunning new advertising campaign are also without brows.

The bleached eyebrows or no eyebrows has been seen in earlier seasons but it’s never been as strong as it is now.

Though I think you have to be incredibly beautiful to pull off this look and even at that it doesn’t always work.

Here’s how one of the most beautiful women in the world might look without brows – Angelina Jolie.

So, what do we think?

Will it become main-stream?

I really don’t like this trend-I even think that even the most beautiful person could pull in off. Don’t think that this is a trend that will take off…or at least I hope it won’t 🙂

Thanks for your comment. I agree, it’s not a very attractive look except in the miu miu advert but those girls already have that beautiful uneartly thing going on… I certainly can’t see it going main stream.

They do have an unearthly/other world look about them def. I think that these type of looks really only work in high-end fashion and are very hard for ordinary folk like myself to pull off without looking rediculous!!

Oh! Holy! God! I seriously hope not! I have pale eyebrows and eyelashes. Urban Decay’s browbox in gingersnap is my must have! and don’t get me started on mascara!

I’m pale too, at least my eye lashes are, I dye them and this seems to help even with mascara. I’m loving No.7 Extreme Length right now, works better than a lot of luxury brands. Thx for your comment.

YIKES! Angie isn’t really rocking it, is she? I think it suits blonds best and I really liked it in the earlier pics. Would love to be brave enough to try it. I guess you could always dye your brows back if it didn’t suit. What next, stripped brows. LOL

Really interesting! I was just looking at Lara Stone’s editorial (that first shot) and didn’t even notice the eyebrows. The eye make-up certainly seems to draw your attention. I think the look works for those models, but I don’t think most people could pull it off. Angelina just looks odd!

Great post, and I love your blog 🙂

I love it on the models but not real people!
