Are we ready for navy varnish on short nails? See some of the best options.

7 Sep

Navy varnish on short nails (to offset the bold colour) is a major autumn 2010 trend.

Here are some of the best navys available.

Yves Saint Laurent Nail Lacquer in Deep Blue

OPI’s Russian Navy

And Chanel Blue Satain.

Navy isn’t going to suit everyone, so maybe try aqua, which is a perfect if you’re just not ready to let go of the Summer or are heading abroad lounging pool side then try:

Nars shimmery Blue Lagoon.

Zoya’s Robyn, a little lighter than Nars, probably more turquoise.

Sephora’s 56 Electric Blue is the cheapest of the bunch and stays true to its name ‘electric’.

For intense saturation try O.P.I.’s No Room for the Blues.

I think navy looks too goth, much prefer the blue, or maybe something in between if it exists?

Yes, I sometimes think these dark colour, particularly on toenails can look all wrong, as if they’re damaged or something, maybe in very bright light it would look good but not in Ireland cause it will just look black. Think I prefer the blue too, I saw the olson twins rocking it out at some premier a couple of months ago.

I’ve been using the navy and it’s really imp to use a base coat as it will discolour your nails!! Just thought I’d mention it. 🙂

I have the OPI Room for the Blues color. It’s really cute and stands out.
