La Prarie Caviar Concealer Foundation

Foundation, without question is the most important part of your make-up bag to get right because let’s face it, few of us have perfect skin, yet no one wants to look like they’re wearing a mask of foundation to hide those flaws. We all want to appear ‘naturally’ beautiful. Yet the quest to find a foundation which looks and feels light and natural but which gives adequate coverage and staying power is often a difficult one.

When it comes to foundation I have tried most of the major brands but I keep returning to La Prarie Caviar Concealer Foundation.

As foundations go this is one of the most expensive, retailing at almost two hundred euros. (I know *gasp*) It is however worth every single penny because in return it gives the illusion of a flawless natural skin tone – lasting for the whole working day without touch-ups.

Extras

It also works to counteract the signs of aging with a build in age-minimizing treatment that promotes smoother complexion. You will notice an immediate improvement in the condition and appearance of your skin. It doesn’t block pores or dry into the lines on my face and it has the basis SPF 15.

The foundation comes with a matching concealer, mini make-up brush and small mirror, so it’s almost like buying two products, or at least this is what I tell myself.

A very small amount is required so a bottle of this foundation lasts over a year, even with daily use.

Where to buy it:

It retails in stores for about €180, but I buy mine online from www.strawberrynet.com for €153, the postage is free and added loyalty discounts are available, so even with customs duties it still tends to work out cheaper though it takes 2-3 week for it to arrive.  It’s sometimes better to buy it in-store, especially if you’re trying to find the right colour for your skin.

In Ireland it’s only available from Brown Thomas on Grafton Street, Dublin 2.

In England you can purchase it from House of Fraser.  See www.houseoffraser.co.uk for your nearest store.
